2008 National Master Hunt Test - Grounds

PROPERTY

Our Clubhouse property consists of 150 acres, on which there are more than 12 interconnected ponds and marshes.  This property has been improved on a regular basis since it was acquired in 1985 with trees, driving trails, running mounds, spits and islands.

Water levels are managed through a series of canals, resulting in good, clean swimming water in all of our ponds even through years of drought in the prairies.

After hosting the National Amateur Retriever Championship in 2005 we took our profits and purchased an additional 160 acres nearby of very hilly terrain with potholes in low areas, providing an endless variety of training and trialing grounds. We seeded that property to a low natural prairie grass cover (it had been previously in crop).

Our property is recognized as one of the best training and trialing grounds in North America and will provide the judges with an impressive variety of sites to devise interesting and challenging tests.

Our Clubhouse area has been developed with a lovely Clubhouse, many planted trees, toilets, 24 electrical sites for camping and picnic tables.

Maps to excellent areas (land and water) arranged for pre-trial training will be available at headquarters.
